Mabye im just a bit old fashion, but i dont think that i would like to have a propane tank on the back of my gun. Like when ur screwing it in and a little comes out and someone had a cigrette or something it could catch on fire. I mean you cook on the barbacue(sp ?) with it.

holy ######....i wass looking at the owners mahnuel...
you need a AAA battery to run the igntion module, which looks like a seloniod, ball latch looks really weird...like the detent rings for phantoms. it also ha a fuel ingnitor. the asa is a regulator. It has a rich to dull thing with the propane gas. The barrel runs though to the back of the marker....it uses the old sl-68 way..screw to tighten it in. and the deten is in/wraps around the barrel. and such. You cant get any other barrel for it or any after market accesroies.
wow.....so many fire arm warnings. with all the parts/number of intsrutions thsi is not a feild stripping type of marker.
it is also uses a micro switch to fire. and the barrel is like one of the old mags....hole for paint to fall though.
also if you break a ball tippmann manuel says it will burn adn decrese performence....hhm... so you have to use your tippmann speacil squeegie that came with the marker to clean which has a 5 step pocess.
it also has a spark plug.

maybe its just me, but i don't like the idea of having a tank of highly pressurized, explosive gas attached to my marker. if i am sholdering that and there is a leak with co2, i get a little cold for a second. HPA, a shot of air to the face. if there is a propane leak and there is a spark nearby i would be dead. that tank could explode and turn into a 16 oz fragmentation grenade which would go off 3 inches from my face.
and tank can explode but i sure as hell aint gonna make it any more likely then i have to.
no thanks

Thats true but this has the possibility of killing the owner if a leak or somthing happens. I will wait and see what happens.

This thing sounds like a flamethrower that just happens to shoot paintballs...

I was checking it out on tippmann's site. If you go to the comparison chart between HPA, c02, and propane, it says that the propane's pressure is only around 80psi. Most paintball guns on the market run at higher pressures than that anyways. It is cool that they're looking into different technologies to try to make paintball better. I just don't think this one is the answer.

Propane isn't explosive. Its more of a propelant then anything.

How else do you think propane would propel? Thats why its more efficient than air or CO2 because of a chemical reaction not just air pushing ball out. Its not like this thing could be anymore dangerous than a car... gasoline blows up too. I have yet to find a thread with someone saying Omfg!!! my car may blow up!!! its gsaoline powered X_X <_<
