Are paintball sizes so varied and different that it necessitates the purchasing of a barrel kit?
Would 'adaptability to paint' > 'single paint-size + accurate barrel?'...
This argument was the result of an argument with a friend debating whether I should try saving up for a Freak kit compared to a J & J Full Tilt Ceramic..
Mm... > = better (greater) than ...

It all depends on what you are going to do. If you are just going to play rec ball and can get the paint you want, then don't worry about a kit.
If you are going to play tournaments, especially ones in different areas, you would be better off with a kit. Tournaments require you to use their paint, so you need to adapt.
And yes, paintball sizes do vary that much. Take a bag of your favorite paint, load your hopper and set the bag aside. I can guarantee you that your paint in the bag will be of a different size than it originally was at the beginning of the day. This happens to all paint to a greater or lesser degree depending on the quality. And the accuracy of the barrel is determined by the paint/barrel match. So with a kit you can have the accuracy with the adaptability. With the single bore, you are limited to specific paints but it's cheaper.
The choice is really yours.

yes yes... all that AND....
Field paint can be quite... crappy.... stored improperly at times... etc
This can cause shrinking and/or swelling... which can lead to barrel breaks on both ends of the spectrum and inaccruacy gas effency...
Deformed paint can also be helped some by having diffrent sized bores...
Basicly, barrel kits are important when it comes to weather conditions, paint sizes/condition...
Also relise depending on the kits, the bore sizes are slightly diffrent, IE a freak kits inserts are a little off from say, a hammerheado or stiffii... so shop around...I reccomend eather a hammerhead kit or stiffi switch kit

Thanks, I've decided that saving for the Ceramic is a better idea.. I found out while browsing their site the other day that they've fashioned some barrel kits as well.. which is just spiffy.
And about the paint issue, pretty much my only source is for it to be shipped, as these Italians sure love to charge absolutely ridiculous prices for a TWO HUNDRED BALLS... (30 euro.. ~ 40-50 dollars... for Draxxus Midnights).. tsk tsk..
Either way, thanks for the reply.
