I've been thinking about this one for a while. I've seen semi to pump conversions, and pump to semi conversions. What do you think makes more sense? I've seen mags, cockers, and even tippmann 98's made into pumps. I've just heard of Phantoms being made semi, and earlier I heard of Trracers being made semi. Cockers can go either way really easy so they're kind of null in this discussion I think. If there are any other conversions I missed I'd like to hear about them.

The only marker that can be practicaly converted is the AC. Change out front ends and you are ready to go. (Just make sure you have your rods marked)
All others are just a little to difficult for everyone. They make for a interesting project and conversation piece though.
I have seen Spyders with Frankenstien pump conversions also.
In the mid 90's, you could get a kit that converted a Traccer to a semi. WGP might have put that out. It worked ok, but was loud and liked to break pump arms and bolts.

Saw that freak of nature the other day on eBay. It was crazy looking, but pretty cool.

Besides the WGP's they are all project markers. It's more of a "Now what more can I do to this thing?" syndrome than "Wouldn't this be cool?!"
It's kind of the same reason why I built my cocker from the ground up. I wanted to see how much it would cost and how I could get the best parts for it. I'd do the same thing with a Phantom but their parts are extremely hard to come by as they are VERY rarely upgraded..... *hint hint*

About the semi conversions for the Trracers. Where could I find one, or are they pretty much extinct now? I'd like to make my milsim Trracer semi, if it still looks pretty much the same. When I play milsim, sometimes the Trracer just isn't fast enough for me. I'm not talking bps, but getting back on target accurately and quickly.

I found the site for the M98 pump kits. It's www.airsoldier.com (http://www.airsoldier.com) and it's alot easier to convert the Tippmanns than I thought. So now Tippmanns are even practical for semi to pump conversions along with the Cockers. Now I've got to get all my Tippmann using pals to join the Light Side of the paint. LOL
The pump kit is under Other Accessories. It took me a minute to find it 1st time.

It's fun. I mean we can always turn it back. Some Sniper pumps are converted semis, but the original cockers were pumps, so I guess they were pumps turned semi. Also a pump Tippmann 98 would be soo cool.

And if you were wondering of the Tracer conversion ( to semi ) kit , the tracer came in 2 versions , the pump and the auto tracer. It was possible , back in the day , to purchase the conversion kit , the " Chameleon " was a decent conversion kit. I believe it used the auto cocker style valving. I installed a few for a local field-owner on a couple of his field guns , and they worked pretty well. The biggest problem I saw with them was the velocity drop when really in the zone on the trigger. Definitely neded an expansion chamber on the unit. If I can ever get my hands on either the kit , or a complete auto tracer , I`ll put the kit to good use on my back-up Phantom , lol.

The Chameleon is the one my friend used and kept breaking bolts and rods. He didn't have the best luck with things mechanical though. It may have just been him. :D
He liked to strip three way rods on his AC now that I think about it. It most likely was him.
