i was wondering, whats it like to be playing paintball as your carrer? it doesn't seem like that well paying of a carreer, all i know is that its more fun than any other sport ive played.

I was wondering what it's like too. Becoming a professional baller and making it a career would be the only thing to sway me from joing the military.

Hopefully one day paintball will "sell out" and you will see teams with owners, managers, salary caps etc =)

i think it would be good because more players can choose a career option that they love.
however, the ba dpoints way out the good. If/When it sells out, a lot of the players will be majorly influenced by the money (like we are watching with dynasty and the ironmen). I have a fear that it will not be about the game anymore, it will be all about the money. Remember the NHL "strike"? yeah....prosecution rests.

I dont really want it to get bigger. I like having my own little sport that only me and my friends understand at our school. I dont want to see a paintball strike or anything. It would take the joy out of the game. But most pros also work within the industry, so they get paid for that.

Paintball is getting bigger with more viewings on TV that is good for the sport. I have recently learned it is on every saturday on ch. 307 (directtv) at 7:00p.m. thats a good time to air prime time on saturday. I also saw on T.V. that they have paintball in the new chick flick "Failure to Launch" with Sara Jessica Parker and Matthew McConaughey. The Media attention is there and now we as an industry need to strike while the irons hot. Personaly I think we need to go at the attention of younger viewers as well, so there is always new players keeping a fresh flow. Go for nickelodeon thats what the industry needs to do project paintball as a fun sport to do with your friends and family. It should be on the teen nick section of nickelodeon, where the kids 12 and up that are just legaly becoming the age to play paintball watch it on their T.V. and get educated properly before they go and play. The safety record will stay good for all the generations to come. I also think tournament paintball should be focused towards MTV. Its older a little bit more mature that nickelodeon it will keep the youth and the older generations educated, safe, and happy. I don't see why B-real first recording artist turned pro paintballer after he hired team avalanche with lasoya and cagnoni to teach him. Cyrpess hill were on MTV before Action Pursuit you telling me they can't try and use some kind of connection he has to help along the evolution of our sport. People have for many years thrown, tossed, and caught balls, hit them with all sorts of blunt objects and ridden on all sorts of self or gravitationaly propelled boards, bikes, and so on. People are not totally used to the idea of a live ammo formed combat as a sport but I think if spraying a little paint on a persons mask is too intence or too violent than I think punching or kicking some one in the teeth until they lose contiousness is by far way too out of line. Don't get me wrong I did Tae-Kwon-Do for a while and love it, But this sport is somthing we all love its somthing we believe in dont you think we should all fight for it. We have been, and it is working ollie lang was signed to the Iron Men for a disclosed 6 figures now He isnt a million are but I say he isn't starving either.

Just because you join the military doesnt meen you drop everything and go. A lot of the military is not fighting and are in the states or other countries and they have shifts like a regular job, with time to do what they want.

About paintball media, I think it is getting bigger and bigger and bigger. I imagine in the near future that teams will be set up like the NBA or NFL. GM's, trainers, staff, salaries, contracts, etc.

i doubt "near future" but definatly in the future paintball MIGHT grow to b a semi-mainstream sport, its way to expensive to be main-stream in america. you can set your kid up with 4 months of baseball, football, lacrosse for about $120 in a local league. That will take care of 2 days of play with a rental at most fields. Until the cost DROPS considerably paintball won't be mainstream.

Hey paintball is dropin in price in some things, but also riseing, i mean look at the guns for $200-$300 u can get a gun that does over 15bps and as ant-chop? think about how much that would cost couple years ago, and paint u can get a case for $20, it wont be the best paint but u can pratice with it. So i think the prices will drop more again in the future, but as far as paintball being liek the mlb i dont think so any time soon maby in the waaay future.
