I wanted to start pump back in October of 04 after 4 years of playing with a crazy tricked out Spyder(warp feed and whole 9 yards). I really forgot why I wanted to start, but I'm glad I did. I got my first pump,a PMI Trracer, from a guy at my local field for $20. Used it that day and haven't turned back since. On December 17, my 17 b-day, I ordered a CCM S5 Pump. Used it one time and it crapped out(something with the valve). Sent it back to get fixed and went back to my Trracer. Was using HPA now. Kind of awkward haning off the back of the Trracer. Got my Chipley back and saw my pump mentor. Now that I think about it he got me wanting to play pump. Now that I've been playing pump for a while, handing semis their butts constantly, Angel(mentor) and I want to start a pump team in CFOA( yeah we're crazy). What go yall started playing pump? A long drawn out story is fine. Didn't mean for this to be so dang long lol.

Started out shooting pump pistol (I don't count my Rapide. It quickly became a backup/2nd) and moved on to my VM 68.

Married then 2 kids made me feel the need to go back to basics. (Pump is alot cheaper). I could either spend $75+ a day or less than $20.

I keep shooting because I like the challenge. I still shoot mostly walk on rec ball and it keeps it interesting against the new players. They also get a early look at what a pump/SC marker is and that it can compete. A good lesson for the average PBer.

It all started for me back in the late 80's. A buddy talked me into going with him to a game at an indoor field (an old stripped out Wendy's or some other fast food joint in the mall). We got pump pistols, not sure what they were. But I fell away from the game for quite a few years. I got back into it a few years back and have always wanted to reclaim that wonderous feeling of getting up close and personal with limited shots :D

My story...

When I was introduced to the game there were no semi's, and playing in the woods with only ten rounds and 12 grams got kind of boring with only 3 peeps so I fell away from the game...(I was young)

Then came the family and responsibilities, etc...

Around the year 2000 I got invited to a company game, (not the company I was working for at the time), and I said sure, I was given a splatmaster and a couple tubes and some 12grams and figured not much had changed since I played last. Much to my surprise the opposition shows up with like 10 cases of paint, full guilly suits and tricked out semis, (looking back they were only spyders and tippmanns, but still, very impressive to me at the time). I really liked the full face masks available rather than just the goggles that covered you eyes and mouth. After a few games I was given a traccer and some guy pulled out a tippmann FA. That was the turning point for me, I was a pb player. (I managed to hold my own against them pretty well, so they told me).

Over the next 1.5 yrs I picked up several semis and started playing big scenario games, but I found the game not as challanging as I remebered, so I started looking into pistols and got a PGP. The rest, so they say, is history.
