I have owned my Piranha for a while now. I often see people with simple problems with their guns. I made this thread so there won't be the same question over and over and over.

The one thing I see alot of threads about is Help, My gun is chopping like crazy!

Well, calm down, Your gun is either chopping or breaking paint. Alot of beginners tend to get confused between the definition of chopping and breaking paint.

Chopping Paint- is when a paintball in your hopper isn't in the breach when the bolt closes, but it insteads falls down when the bolt is closing. The bolt slams fowards, and chops the Paintball is half.
The only way to solve this problem is to go out and buy a Electronic hopper. I suggest a Viewloader Evolution 2, Viewloader Revolution with X-board, or Empire Reloader. The Evolution hopper runs about 70-80 dollars online and the Revolution and Reloader from 40-50 dollars online.

Breaking Paint- This happens when you are using old, out of shape, cheap, paint to big for your barrel or brittle paint. The only way to solve this problem is to make sure there isn't any burr marks on your bolt or the inside of your barrel(tips), and to use good, fresh Paint.

Leaking- This is because your air hose fitting are not tight enough, or your o-rings need to be replaced or lubed. To solve this problem, tighten up your airhose, if that does not work, lube your o-rings, and if that does not work, it is time to replace your o-rings.

Your gun won't G-Rated at all- All I can say is your air pressure is too low to properly recock your gun, you will need to raise the pressure on your regulator if you are using one. If not, check your sear. If it is rounded at the tip, time to get a new one or fix your old one buy using a grinder and squaring off the tip of the sear, but don't do it to much.

Air leaking through barrel- I came across a post with this problem. Basically what you need to do is check your cupseal. Look at your valve pin, there should be a white teflon piece. Check and see if it is chipped, broken, or something is stuck near it. If so replace it. Also make sure your valve isn't backwards, I can't tall you how many times this has happened to me.

Ok. i have a PMI pirahna Eforce Bl with gasthrough foregrip. i'm having an uber bad problem with chopping. i took my hopper into consideration like you said, but i do use a richochet loader and it works just fine, i evend tried vl 12volt with my marker also. Now when it does chop it doesn't actually chop the ball, the hammer slams forward and catches the ball between the feedneck and chamber. the odd thing is it doesn't break, it usually jams. i have to find the strongers person at the field to pull my internals out just so i can clean it. have you heard of this problem before? oh. and i use marbelizers and Evil paint. if that helps any.

Is your marker a vertical feed or diagnol feed?

Seems like a blowback problem. You will need to either go Low pressure to help stop it or get a better hopper like an Evolution 2 which can be bought for about 60 new now.

yes, its a verticle feed and i use nitro duck compressed air also. i bought all new internals figuring it could have just been my stock internals, but it does the same thing. so i then bought a Evil verticle feed to replace my stock feedneck and still no luck. i'm at a total lost....perhaps just a bad egg?

Hm, check you sear and see if the tip is rounded or check the hammer lip.

i have a piranha R6 and it curves like every ball that comes out of the barrel i have a 14 inch barrel on it but it still curves. Is there anything i can do to make it stop

Could be a number of things. What is your velocity? Does your paint bore match the bore of your barrel?

hey my piranha r6 is being werid when i am playing usealy it will stop shooting paintballs and just shoots air but then i just shake it so the balls drop in to the gun but sometimes my gun just wont shoot anythign i am pulling the tigger and cocking it and like when i pull the tigger nothing happeneds wut do you think is wrong with it

i got a pirahna 2k3 sts from a friend and im having difficultys, i have an e force grip with (original), an all american barrel, and the costom gun with a 16 0z co2. i got a full co2 on it adn i cocked it made sure it was on but when i shot it it barrely puts out any pressure. also the cocking mechanism itself will shot once and then u have to recock it... what do i do

On the back of the marker, bottom tube. Should be some type of screw.

I have a Evo and it has worked fine for 1-1/2 to 2 yrs. No problems, great gun.
Now when i try to start it up nothing happens i hold that button for like an hour and nothing happens. I charged it for a whole night, then i put a new battery in it and nothing, any and all help it greatly appreatiated.

Sounds like some bad/loose wiring. Don't mess with it. Call up PMI.



Also, make sure you put the battery in right.

Whenever i shoot my paintball gun it shoots the first one fine then the next one kinda roll out with another ball or 2 or 3

Sometimes my E-Frame will stop working. I'll have it cocked and pull the trigger, but all that happens is a "clicking" in the frame. Any idea on what's wrong?

Your velocity is probably low then. How is the paint-to-bore match for your barrel?

Try charging/replacing the battery.

Inconsistent velocity, I suggest an anti-siphon and a better reg. I will have a more detailed Upgrade thread posted in the later 2 days or so.

There should be a screw on the bottom of the reg that you adjust with a hex driver.

I ran a couple different paintballs through my barrel and they all just feel through.
I tried Big Ball, Stingers (some stuck but only cause they're oval) and Wild Streak.
I believe I have a box of RPS Premiums that I still have to try.

I don't have a gauge on my ASA so I don't know what psi I'm at.
Hopefully this weekend I'll have my bro drill and tap in a 1500psi gauge that I bought.
I plan on getting a 72/3k HPA tank and I'd like to drop the psi (how low can I go?).
That should fix the inconsistancy.

As for the frame I installed a new battery and it still didn't work. I had to send it out to PMI and they repaired something (did not say what). But it's only happened once since I received it back and I'd like to know what's wrong.

Could have been multiple things. AS for you OP, just drop it down by increments of 25 psi until you get horrible efficiency, then crank up in about 5 increments.

I can answer that. To engage the tourny lock u must remove the screws from the e-grip frame(ya no, where its connected to the metal part) ya take those out, take of the plastic part that protects the board, and theres this tiny blue switch, u move tht to the off position. Iv done it before. it should be in the manual.

i got a GTI 05' and i just bought n2 for it and most of the time it dosnt recock or it jackhammers.and the velocity is f'd up.

well my friend has a piranha GTI, and today we tried it out for the first time, we filled the hopper and started shooting. It immedietly broke a ball. We cleaned it out. Shot again it did the same thing. He pulled the trigger and it wouldnt shut off like it was acting like it was on full auto. That wasted his co2 in about 1 minute. He took it back and it said to check the o-rings... any ideas?

Im not very good at terminology so i need some help on what i want to get, i kinda dont know what it is called so yea...

i want a handle for my non trigger hand... idk what it is called so i cant do research to get one, and i need a
