ive been planning a team for a long time and i just got back from playing a couple of teams who placed 5th or higher in some tournaments and i did pretty well in speedball against them in most games i took out at least 1 or two and in one game i eliminated the whole team so i think im tournament worthy but i wouldnt know what kind of event to join as beginners and i need some general tips on what to do because i want to join a tournament before the end of summer but i dont want to rush

Tournaments are a ton of fun... I dont know what your local area is like, but i would suggest starting with local field tournaments. Start with some three man action and go from there. Pretty soon if you get good enough some of the traveling teams will notice you and want to add you to their rosters. After you have a strong enough name for yourself you might try the big circuits. Some people may jump strait into the big guys, but might find they get discouraged quickly. It is better to get a strong foundation when playing tournament ball

Hope that helps,

Rob!

start up a team with skilled friends or tryout for a team at a local field.

good for you .. sponsors are hard to come by .. even if they are just local places.. you should be proud and good luck in your tourny

The only way to get better is by practice. Expinsive guns just give players a boost against other players. At my feild when I was playing back, a kid with a spyder killed the whole team that had a couple of dm4's and 5's, a shocker, and one ego. Our team had my shocker, a 2k2 timmy, 2 spyders and a mech. So the point is, is that the gun dosen't make the player. Practice a lot, have a good attitude, and be a deticated player and you will move up the ranks quickly.
