Guys,

I am new to this forum, and a relative newbie to the paintball world, so forgive me if I embarrass myself with bad terminology or ignorant opinions. I just got out of the Army as a Special Operations soldier. My job in the Army was to train people, all sorts of people in all sorts of places, for various types of operations. Since I got out in 2004, I have been working with a buddy on putting together the baddest, most realistic scenario adventure games on Earth. We're talking about three, four, and five day games that have people travelling to places like the Dominican Republic, moving out into the jungle, linking up with teams of "rebels," training them in CQB and demolitions, and engaging an opposing team in order to blow up a bridge or rescue a downed aircrew. Up til now, we've used Airsoft weapons (not the greatest things in the world), or simunitions (very, very expensive). But we'd really like to turn these things into paintball games because it seems like you all have so much more of a diverse and imaginitive crowd. My question is, what have you guys done that might be similar to this, and if you were going to go and have a big, detailed, realistic adventure run by ex-Spec Ops guys, what kinds of scenarios would you like to see? Bear in mind, it doesn't have to be tournament style play. We can incorporate all sorts of elements from teaching how to rappel and assault from ropes to setting and blowing demolitions (staged, of course). Your input is welcome and much appreciated, and I'm glad to be on the boards.

Sine Pari!
Mike

It sounds like what you are describing would be scenario paintball, kinda a new twist to it maybe. There's lots of scenario paintballers out there that are always itching to do new stuff and showoff their skills and toys, and alot of them show up to the games like DDay. I played quite a few scenario games in my day. SC village back in the 80s had some good large games, and DDay and Normandy Invasion use some of the demolition staged stuff you mentioned. I dont know how well rapelling would work with paintball gear on, but its definitely a new idea in PB games. Also, anything has gotta be better than the trekkie scenario games.
