Almost any set-up would work because what people look for in a "sniper" set up is more effective range, which is imposible to get, and more accuracy. Almost every first upgrade any paintballer gets is new barrel, making almost everyones accuracy compeatable with eacothers. So your set up wont every be any longer range or more accurate then most other peoples. Unless paintball makes a new rule where "snipers" can turn their volocity up at least 100 fps and just make a rule if they engages someone within a cirtain distance the have to us a pistol or other 300 fps marker. Untill something like that happens your pretty much stuck with the same range and accuracy as everyone else. So you might as well not try to be a "sniper" and get in there and make some eliminiations.

i dno cus i had a 98c with a freak and then i got a phantom and its way more affective sniping

...(a fun sniping trick is finding a spot ur camo blends perfect with and then drop a full pod of paint in a area u can shoot conserve ur paint and wait for the idiot to bend over pick it up then shoot um...)after this i usually yell LLLEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRROOOOYYYYYY pick up the pod and move to new spot

What ever floats your boat. As an expeirenced woodsball player, sniping is not the way to go unless your woodsball course is very dense with lots of underbrush to provide concealment. If so, you could downgrade to a model 98 because a good sniper only needs one ball!

Er, a "sniper" is a person, not action. I don't want to get into an argument but "snipe" or "sniping" can mean many, many different things. Think about this, get a person to put on white cloths with red targets painted on them. Stick them in the woods with a sniper that is trying to kill them. Who do you think will win? Now take a "paintball sniper" and put him in the woods. Then take a person in white cloths with red targets painted on them in the woods. There is a good, no, great chance that person with the white on, unless the person is a compleate noob, will win or come very close to getting the "sniper" out. I will be glad to do it anyday. Now don't get me wrong. My freind is ex-military. He faught in veitnam. He can go hid in the woods like one on 5 and only get shot out once for every 7 times he hits someone else. He can go hid and his son can come hid less then 10 feet from him, get into a firefight, leave and not see his dad the whole time. Thats still not sniping, its called ambushing. Soooo with the deffinition you gave I could go to your house and put a silenced pistol to your head, shoot you and that would be sniping, and that would make me a sniper. Don't think so. ;) Don't get mad and flame me cause I'm anti-paintball sniper. I'm just expressing my views. There is a very, very fine, big, bold line bettween sniping and ambushing, I think thats what people are getting confused about.

I'm with you Stealthy. It's hard to be a true sniper in the actual meaning of it. You can't really reach out there a touch someone with a paintball marker, as they all shoot the same distance. Though you can get all camied up and ambush the hell out of everyone. That's the way I was when I first started, but I didn't consider myself a sniper by any means.

To true alot of people have this idea in there head the the paint ball "sniper" is like a real world sniper. Being a sniper in paint ball is very diffent from snipeing in real life. read my post on snipeing it explains what being a sniper in paint ball is all about.
