maybe im going out on a limb here, but im thinking we need some new mods. 90% of them are lazy, dont do their job, and take sides (now im sure this thread is going to get closed now). take off topic for example, anything goes... its like a free for all. im not saying its not fun, but it just gets old after a while, the same assholes are around and are never warned or banned. when i first got on this forum i was banned like 5 times and warned numerous other times... and now nothing ever happens. i get tired of seeing people lash out and make stupid posts without being warned or banned.

just my $.02

I do agree, but the only time I do take a side is in the event of new member who spams and is agrivating against older members, If there is ever any reference to me flaming, bans are never awarded from me, I treat myself as a member and do not use my moderating powers to get rid of people off the forum that I don't like, otherwise A LOT more people would be perma-banned. Please use the report button and tell me what you believe the consequences should be and why and I will take it into consideration. I am a lot more fair then other moderators of the forums and I would like to see them improve, but I do about 65%+ of the moderating lately, It's not an easy task with school and a 24 hour a week job, plus a girlfriend, and various other obligations such as lifting and getting ready for baseball. Thanks for the statement though, maybe you will make some people think.

If people act too stupid, they will eventually get it from the other members, if not dan... And they are just words after all, anything too vulger or racist does get dumped when its reported. I think the forum runs pretty well compared to some.

Plus, everything sucks to you proanti.

true, everything does suck... but atleast my insight is somewhat truthful.

hint, i would greatly apreaciate being a mod in off topic (hint hint ;) ), but thats not why i created this thread. it just gets anoying with the amount of stupidity around here. all the go die comments and such, a few times is ok, but when deadon goes and tells some kid that is just asking a question to go die 3 or 4 times in the same topic... its just retarded.

If something is bothering you, or any other member, the alert option is great for getting the mods attention. I don't recall any alerts recently on this problem.

Since the hacks and the raising of the site rating to PG 13, the mods have been far less strict since the rules have loosened up. What was a warn and ban offence this time last year, is not a problem now. More bad language and flaming is tolerated with the new mind set of PG 13. With the average age being at least 14 and the traffic in the forums far less, you won't see as much in the way of warning and banning unless someone pushes those loose limits.

I personaly would like to see the spam bot problem taken care of, but, that is beyond our power.

I'm PMing Burt this weekend and going to sit it out and wait for a response. Hopefully he will grant me the powers I wish for, and something can be done. That man right there ^^^ does the other moderating that I miss haha.

Being a mod is overrated. Most people believe that once they have gotten 2000+ posts they are contenders to be a moderator. That is complete bull. You have to be at least relativley helpful and smart to be a moderator.

Another thing is the only moderators I do find efficient are danman and ft... all the rest just seem to be like ghosts... Either way, I do understand that being a moderator is not as easy a job as it may seem. I am a moderator of www.absolutepaintball.net, and it is not always an easy job. Even with much less members than here, and a dedicated/efficient (most of the time) moderator/admin team to complement me.

People here on PBC need to learn how to use the REPORT button instead of attempting to flame, when they know nothing of truly flaming. Others need to get the sticks that they have in their behinds for no reason out of there.

One of the most annoying things of managing a forum that is growing or has grown is no doubt incessant buttholes and spam/porn accounts.

I think some people need to stop talking about bad mods when they know nothing of it, but others have merit when they speak. Either way, I think this site does need a little bit of rebuilding in the moderator/admin area and the rules (and enforcement of them).

It would also help if members could delete their own posts like in triple/double posts accidental threads and such.

lol

It would be easier also on the existing mods to do what they have done (somewhat) already, and assign a select few members to moderate the forums they patrol on/know most about.

Indeed - This also applies to the rules that haven't been chiseled into stone. Such rules include the many forms and levels of respect that I (being an upcoming two-year member) have seen quite a lack of the past few months with the arrival of newer members.

Point them out to me. Respect is key to this site, and I other older members should be treated with respect just like moderators, long time members and great contributors like mwah ;) .

I definitely see it as a necessity to create a strong foundation for any society. While this forum does have a ranking system, it can't be used accordingly seeing as it's run by however many posts you have - A barrier that's easilly broken by eager, overly-enthusiastic members who love to create topics about worthless, watered-down and overly-asked questions. In the case of this internet enviromnent it seems that respect ISN'T something that can be earned truthfully anymore.

I think this is another case where other members will police the forum in regards to respect for long time members... mods arent even really needed for that. Of course there will be times when jerks get away with stuff a few times.... but we (the ball busters of forum newb deuche bags) will catch up with them quickly & beat them into submission.

Not that I would say "dont report bad behavior!" or anything... just that they wont get away with it either way :D

I'm thinkin if anyones retarded enough to do something dumb, the senior members just flame the ###### out of him until he gets banned. Problem fixed, the citizens save the day.

By ######ing the ###### out of them till they flip out and get themselves banned so their stupidity doesnt cause ulcers and cancer among the more calm and mature members.

Once again, how do you expect a forum to grow and to gather informative members if you flame every single newb away? Your goals and your plans for them contradic[sp?] so badly..

Little bit of sarcasm on my part but not to much. Its pretty much what nawtydog said. The noob stuff doesnt matter. Its if they completely come on here and ###### and lie and pretty much be an immature ######.
