I recently renewed my McAfee Antivirus and so far it has proved itself worthy except for one major flaw that really needs to be worked on, system drag. OMFG How this program slows the hell out of your computer.

So, I have come up with this Poll. Begin your voting gentlemen.

*Oh, and by the way, for those of you poor people who can't afford decent antivirus this is rumored to be the best FREE antivirus: http://www.free-av.com/

never trust a free antivirus program. norton is by far the best. a little while ago some information got out that showed that mcaffe had been paid by a few companies to let their spyware and malware "slip"... and it is also extremely irritating how its update crap pops up... and you can also never get rid of it, its always in your registry.

The free anti-virus software I was referring to is absolutely safe. The only fault it has is that it is not as good as the the ones you have to pay for (i.e. Kaspersky, Norton, BitDefender, e.t.c.). You can easily get unused stuff out of your registry, if you know what you are doing.

Oh, and can you please give me a link to this Malware and Spyware "slips" you were talking about. I'm going to keep my eye out for that crap.

hhmm the one i have is not up there.. i use AVG Free.. its a virus protector that is better than norton..

No offense to you or your software, but the free version of AVG is not better than Norton.

ok whatever.. all norton does is stops up your RAM and stops screws up your system mangement and files.. avg comes with automatic updates.. but im a computer fanatic and i had norton so i think i know which is better..

Norton comes with automatic updates to buddy. Do you want me to post a screenshot? You obviously aren't too smart with computers if you think AVG Free Edition is better than Norton...

that it does, but it works great. norton comes with auto updates and everything.

and empirelover?... why is it that you have norton? dont all your FREE programs do the job for you?... yeah, thats what i thought, keep your mouth shut.

OMFG. My FREE programs don't have the ability to find as much stuff as Norton does. That is why I have it. Every once in awhile I will get a Corrupted download from LimeWire and need to get the crap off my PC.

I really don't need to have any of those large Antivirus programs on my system because I don't look up porn like you do.

ROFL, Norton sucks! Empire, sorry but AVG is much better than norton. Norton sucks horribly.

O, don't use limewire, it screws w/ ur comp. Use torrents or something.

Ok, well you do agree with me on one thing don't you? Free antivirus software DOES NOT screw up your PC. Am I right?

pfft... atleast i do it without getting viruses... i havnt had an antivirus program since the last time i whiped my drive, i download tons and tons of crap, and wow... no viruses! you dont need a virus program if you download torrents.

No...... but you do need one to get online period. Let me say this... if you have no anti virus protection and you're getting online... well.. you're comp's gonna get smoked.

I have mc cafee and it seems to get the job done. I had norton 2001 once and it always fked up.

where is anything gonna come from? a firewall will do a wayyyy better job than an antivirus program, antivirus programs are a last ditch fail-safe. just dont go installing and downloading everything! look at the security certificate and see if it has been approved, look around on the site, see if there are any comments on the thing that you are downloading saying its a virus, or corrupt... its not that hard people.

You need a firewall and an antivirus, and you can get a virus anywhere, it's not like you have to be downloading online videos to get one.
