Hey guys. I am new to this board but have been lurking for awhile.

I have recently gotten back into this game and had some trouble with my minimag. I went out on the spur of the moment so I didnt have time to oil and clean my gun so maybe this was my problem.

Anyway, I had to run the gun on CO2 because I couldnt get my HPA tank filled because it was out of date. I noticed that the balls when fired had somewhat of a curve to their flight path. Similar to when you break paint but not nearly as bad. Can this in anyway be a gun problem? Was I just using paint that my marker didnt like? I had to put the bottle back in front of the handguard because it kept getting liquid in it. However, it still just felt like it didnt run right.

How would you guys go about getting my marker back up what it used to be? What parts should I replace since it sat for so long unused?

Thanks for your help.

First, chrono it... that will tell you a lot. Is it consistant, whats the velosity. Are thre any leaks? Is the paint you are using too big for the barrel? Some details please.

Well, the balls fall easily through the barrel. I havent chroned it as we were just playing in the woods. There was no noticeable drop in velocity. We were probably running hot though. No leaks.

If your over 310-320, it can cause curving... especially in a mag. Get it chronoed & see what its doing.

Thanks, I am pretty sure I might have been at least 310 fps.

Otherwise shoud I just perform normal maintenance like oiling the o-rings and such and lower the velocity?

I never really messed w/mag o-rings, unless there was a problem... seemed like too many times I took it apart to oil/clean & ended up with leaks were ther were none before.

Yeah, I used to take it apart quite often when I first got it but then, just like you said, I would get leaks.

Is there anything I can get to help the gun run better on CO2 at around 300fps, like an expansion chamber or a regulator?

I ran a 20oz. on a 10* droped asa (keeps the liquid down) with an intisiphon tube & usually only filled to about 15-17 oz. instead of a full 20oz. And an expansion chamber on the gun... This keeps 99% of the liquid out of the gun... and I had very few problems.
