Well I would obviously rather have a sick car (Toyota Supra TT, maybe :o), but when it comes to stuff I can actually afford, none of the cars in that department are that great, so I'm looking for a truck, hopefully, again, a Toyota (what can I say, most reliable trucks ever.)

id rather take an old datsun truck over some newer domestic any day. look at asian cars, they are cheap, so therefore their parts are very cheap... then look at cars made in america, they make them look nice and cheap, and like a good deal... but then try to repair the peice of ###### a year later! you have to take it to a dealership and it ends up costing you a 10th of what you paid for the car... there is no $10 fuel pumps, or $40 starters... no... not even close to that.

now, back on subject... i would take a small pickup over a car, they have more use. especialy if its a king cab style one...

You are just saying this to sound BA. They are not ugly, considering there are hundreds of awsome looking ones. And $100,000!?!? If you spend that much on any car it is going to be awsome, no mater where it is from. And for you information a good portion of American cars are sourced overseas and a good portion of Japanese cars are made in America. They're just made better. You never see a POS Ford or Chevy with 300,000 miles on it do you? And don't try and say there are some because even if there are there are tons more Japanese cars with that much mileage. And I'm not quite sure what you are saying about modding, you need to learn to speak better English. But whatever it is it's irrelavant because Japanese cars are the most popular cars to mod, if you haven't noticed. And duh, classic car collections are going to have American cars, Japanese cars haven't been around as long. Now however, companies like Toyota, Nissan and Honda can't grow fast enough, whereas the Big 3 are working hard on going bankrupt. Toyota is going to pass up GM in the market share very soon, if they aren't already. So how about next time you wait until you know what you are talking about before you make some BS post. not all jap cars suck... jsut the people who want cheap power. you can easily get 400 hp out of a gassed honda t2 motor with just solid parts like a stroker crank, good cam, pistons, and better FI system. what about subarus? easily 350 with a 2 liter engine. what about a 240Z?... you can get 350-400 out of those too. just about any jap car will surpas the power out of any domestic without nos. and ofcourse you are gonnna mention detroit muscle, yes you can get 500 ft/lb's or torque... but the engine wont last and you will need to dump 3 grand into a good 4 or 6 bolt main block alone. i guess its your opinion that they suck, but do a little research first.

I can't see myself ever driving a truck under any circumstances. As soon as I get another job, I'm going on a hunt for another AE86 and once I get settled back on the mainland, I'm starting on my Sileighty project that I've been obsessing about for the past year. After I get out of school, I'd like to buy an S2000 or somthing else incredibly impractical.

maybe in a drag and yes AVERAGE cars and we are talking no mods on either. My S10 blazer can beat many lil cars off the line no problem. but the car will have a better top end and will still in a non straight line race.... anywho

you obviously are reaching here and really trying to sell the imports.

the general rule here is if you throw more power at it you will break ######... period!
I see lots of guys with great builds on either side that have great mileage. you just need to build everything! you can't play with one thing and not expect others to break, When you crank that kind of power out of a pushrod V8 I'd worry less about breaking the motor and more about breaking the rear end. I've seen guys put together a killer tuner car and have stuff break 5k later and guys with nice pushrod V8's making 400+hp not break anything for another 100k.
By the time you have spent the time making your "tuner" or import car as fast a detroit iron you'll have spent the same cost as a stock Muscle car if not more in making it fast and break just as much stuff
and if you try and pull out the gas mileage argument you are even dumber than you look by your previous post.

the power argument is the most worthless thing you can argue because ###### breaks, and anyone can make power with any motor design... This argument is more about the preferance of the owner than anything. When will people get that through their heads. So leave the import vs domestic argument with the body kit wearing morons that think the 5ft wing they tacked on made their car 20 hp at the rear wheels in their 94 civic
