Depends on the state. Usually different laws apply to your riding also.

Same here, except im going to convince her. And I have about a 75% of dieing on that bike if I get it.... the other 25% would be party accidents.

Yeah untill you end up like this guy. If you have that much disrespect for other drivers on the road you shouldn't even be near a bike.

The Honda rider was traveling at such a "very high speed", his reaction time was not sufficient enough to avoid this accident. Swedish Police estimate a speed of ~250 KM/h(which is 155 mph) before the bike hit the slow moving car side-on at an intersection. At that speed, they predicted that the rider's reaction time (once the vehicle came into view) wasn't sufficient enough for him to even apply the brakes. The car had two passengers and the bike rider was found INSIDE the car with them. The Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of impact and landed 10 feet from where the collision took place. All three involved (two in car and rider) were killed instantly. This graphic demonstration was placed at the Stockholm Motorcycle Fair by the Swedish Police and Road Safety Department. The sign above the display also noted that the rider had only recently obtained his license.

Don't go with the 500 you will regret it in the end trust me. Spend the extra cash and pick up the gixxer.

You have not gone 200 mph on a bike if thats what your claiming.... shens. A Hayabusa without the speed limiter barely breaks that and odds are you dont have a modded bike of any sorts? Let alone if you are even 16.

The only reason I am considering the GS500 is because I have nearly NO riding experience. Also because its 3 grand cheaper and I can't make 165 payments everymonth. But if I go with a 600 I'm gona go with a honda cbr

Ya riding experience doesnt matter as much as you would think..... sure all the experts say start with a smaller bike but the 100cc difference isnt much and if you dont want to waste any cash on selling the 500 and buying a 600 later on then just skip right to the 600.

Are you buying new just out of curiousity? Because you can fetch some really good deals on ebay. I found a 2003 honda cbr600rr not dropped once with just over 2,000 miles for 3,000 buy it now and shipping is usually only about 500 dollars for the bike.

If you do get the honda CBR are you looking for an F4I or the RR? Both are nice bikes and will treat you well.

Thanks guys. I've seen the story and the pictures of the bike through the car and trust me I'm not that stupid. I ride at the right speed because my uncle actually died on a bike when an 18 wheeler pulled out in front of him. I know what things look like when bad thing happen, but thanks for the concern anyways. BTW this is the first time I've ever driven a bike before and its a 750 so like danman said the riding experience doesn't matter as much, but I do understand the money issue. Honda CBR-600's arent bad starter bikes at all .. just be safe.

My dad and I bought it used from the dealer here in town for right around 5,000. They are originally around 9,000 for them brand new though, maybe a little more.

You only have to be 14 in alabama

teamunique10
08-20-2006, 08:23 PM
It's 16 here, which I personally think it should be at least 18 before you get your motorcycle license. Your more responsible and mature about riding then 14 - 16 year olds are.

danman2008

Show me the 14 In alabame proof you F'in liar. And yes its 18 in wisconsin unless you take motorcycle classes like me.

Yeah not many people here ride them because of the big trucks the rednecks here drive and stuff. I was the first one to have one at my high-school when I graduated in May, now I'm like one of 10 that have them here. It's starting to check on though, quick, with this gas prices.
