ok guys i havent been on in a few months and i went on to try to sell my gun and see how the sites going and in just about every thread there is a flamming war...over the stupidest things baseball cards, spyder vs tippman, 'ions are gay' and so on.
It needs to stop, it pisses me off to try to sell something and people start sayin it sucks or when someone else is looking for 'specificly a omen' someone comes on and says i have an ion for sale...its really getting annoying, it makes me want to screw u guys and go to pbnation...(jk)
I know the mods are trying their hardest but maybe they could find some more mods to keep this site under control...ive also seen several closed threads, either from in the wrong section or asking the same thing over and over (which leads to flamming)...and not respecting other people's opinions, whether it be religion, pb guns, cars whatever...i couldnt even make a thread about god without people flamming and getting it closed, now i may sound like your mommy but it does need to stop i'd hate to see this site go down the drain...

next time think before you post...

If you see a problem, flaming, spamming or what ever, hit the alert icon.

Specify the problem and the individual/s that are having the problem. It will be dealt with.

Alerts will get alot more done than general posts about a problem.

And this was a spam reply. Useless and contributed nothing to the thread.

As FT said, hitting the Report/Alert button will accomplish what you want done. General posts regarding flamming or spamming will only serve to draw in those you wish to bring attention to.

Trust me, the offenders will be taken care of ;)

Yeah doormans a hard*butt*. He doesn't let anyone go. He probably even permabanned joel for spamming.

Oh no, I just realized I'm spamming too! Bring it doorman :boxing:

How about one of the mods gives us a demonstration report. So we know exactly what info to give, and what info you will already know. like do you need links, post numbers, member names, what the objectionable content was?

When you click the Report button, make sure you do it on the offending post. This way the link brings us right to that post. If the user has posted more than once with more than one offending post, just say something like "XXXX is spamming up this entire thread" or "XXXX has posted 3 spam posts in this thread".

When people use the report function we usually get them entering in something like "Spam" or "junk" or when something needs moved "Regional". This doesn't give us very much information, especially if a mod has already got to the post and edited it.

If the mod has deleted the post then we are redirected to a "Page not found" type of page and it's easy for us to see that the post/thread has been deleted.

Trying to figure out what some of the cryptic things you guys put in the report is where we fall into problems. So generally a little more information is needed. I personally like to click on the reply button for the offending post, then copy that information, hit the back button, then hit the report and paste the entire offending post into the description.

This way I know that the original offense is documented and every mod can see what was or hasn't been done with the post when we get the report.

*EDIT*

This is a sample report I sent for this particular post to show you what is sent:

Doorman,

You have been sent this communication from Doorman via the "Report this post to a moderator" link.

But please let us know someone else said it. I might jump the gun if the particular post was deleted and think you or whoever was directing the comments towards me. And thus resulting in a rather upset me and a banned member.

I dream of the day I get to much info in a alert.

I understand the urge to start modding and being confused as dyedude mentioned. Sometimes it is like modding in a heavy fog and only being able to hear faint cries for help that stop when you get near them. Like freaking crickets chirping until you get close to them. You know, the ones that get in the house and start driving you crazy just as you lay down to go to sleep. After a while of searching you just want to kill the little bugger. You were going to catch it and set it free, but, the irritation ovewhelms you and all you can do is think about squishing it like the bug it is. MAN! I hate that. What were we talking about? Oh yea, info in alerts.

Please, take Doormans advice. Thank-you.
