these are the markers i hear the most about the most often and seem to be the top shelf stuff, depending on who you ask...

Can some one tell me why and which you would suggest. Are these good newbie guns, would they last? tell me becuase i mostly see arguing with no info to back up why theese could be good guns.

they're good guns but i would suggest a tippman 98 costom because they are awsome newb guns and plus they arnt only for newbs. alot of people get a 98 custom as newbs and then wen they get better they begin to upgrade it and then you kan use it as a really good gun. it grows with u. so i would get a 98custom if i were u. my friend has one..... he must have dropped it at least a hundred times onto mud, ground, his pool (lol dont ask), and concrete and it still works the same as if it were brand new B) pce

Well, don't go with the 98 Custom unless you are playing in the woods 95% of the time.

Both Spyders are Piranas are low-end markers, that are both pretty highly upgradeable, and inexpensive speedball guns. I'd have to go with the Spyder though. Like I said, they are inexpensive and shoot decently stock. They are good for a first gun, to learn how take care of your marker, and if something breaks, it's not $150 to get it fixed. They are also very upgradeable, with everything from barrels, to bolts, to regulators, to air systems, to electronic triggers. They also last if you can, and do take care of them the way should.

Treat your Spyder the way you would like to be treated. ;)

The Spyders are double stack gas blow back design. They are a good buy for cheap, you can upgrade them to make them a little better. The Piranha is basically a Spyder clone. Along with the Icons and Rebels. They're fine for a newbie to use. I'd suggest the Kingman Spyders only because they're original and not a knock off.

Your wrong there.

Pmi started out before Kingman. Pmi made it so it was easier for a selection of valves if the Piranha could take Spyder valves, same with barrels and springs.


I'd go with a piranha. Better quality, more durable, you can go lp fster(some models like the GTI can run 650 psi w/o mods).
