I just wear a t-shirt, jersey, and paintball pants. I don't really see the need for "protection".

if ur playing woods then u dont really need protection, but for speedball u need knee and elbow pads for sliding and diving. ur not a "wuss" if u wear pads. if anything, ur stupid for not wearing pads. i have dye knee and elbow pads and they're comfy and they let ur elbows and knees breath, unlike other brands that make u lose 20 gallons of sweat per game B) pce

I use Dye pads also...very comfy and they don't slide down while you're playing.

I would get knee pads for woodsball if they were in my budget which they aren't. Do you know how bad it feels to jump into a shallow creek bed knees first and right knee hits a peice of PVC pipe sticking out of the ground and left knees hits a brick. You then have to belly crawl through 6 inches of water.

^^^^that has to suk. my dye pads go through a ton of crap and are still as good as new after they go through the wash. if u ever get the money..... pads would help a lot. they are a good investment. B) pce

I have a pair of WDP Airtime knee pads, and they are great, the most comfy pads ever, they looks pretty stylish too, if you're into that kida thing. Knee pads are a neccessity at this point, they way the games is played now, you almost have to have them, plus I just got over a very bad knee injury, and have no intention of haveing knee surgery. Don't worry about people calling you a wuss, at least at the end of the day you will be able to walk.

That guy is a complete moron. Just ignore him. All he says is he wears shorts and a tank top and Flatline barrels rock. I'm going to get some Dye knee pads, because I keep busting up my knees, and maybe some elbow pads too, if I'm going to be playing snake a lot.

i wouldnt wear a chest protector or anything but i would reccomend knee pads and elbow pads though. my friend wears a chest protector, i wouldnt do it but i guess it is reasonable (he got the chest pads for $10).

Personally I think knee pads and elbow pads are a good idea because it gives you the freedom to jump, slide, dive, or even trip on a branch or something and eat s*#t without injuring yourself.

he probably thinks they we wear pads to protect ourselves from paintballs. since hes never played he doesnt know you have to slide. and he talked about playin front? i dont know of any tourney that would let you play in shorts and a tank top. most require pants and long sleeve t's

Louis ur a ###### retard. Do you know how much sliding and diving you'll be doing in a speedball game? Woodsball has some of it too. If you play right, you'll probably be on your knees, sliding, crouching, and crawling. If you wanna live a good life without aching joints, wear the pads. They keep your elbows and knees from hurting like a ##### during a game.
Anyway, I would definatly recommend knee pads. You probably won't be doing much with your elbows; at least not as much as you'll do on your knees, so knee pads are a necessity. If you don't wear more than 2 layers, a chest protector might be good. It'll break the pain, but since it's hard, it'll probably break the paintball too. Finally, I would recommend a neck protecter. It hurts like a motha###### getting hit in the neck, so protect yourself and get one of those.

I personally like having my chest pad while playing. I wear it because it doesn't feel very good getting tagged from like pointblank range(I bunker a lot). As for the knee and elbow pads they are a very good idea. I know an expert level player who off the start slid into a bunker without pads and hit the bunker just right and busted his knee pretty bad.
PS: Cups are helpfull too

I wear pants with this reinforce rubbery material in them, gloves, a neck protector, and a chest protector. I'd recomend a chest protector to anyone. At first I started wearing it cause I thought paintballs would hurt, but I still wear it because a paintball has never busted on it, even though i've been shot plenty in the chest and back.

If you have a Lowes Lumber in your area (probably Home Depot and what ever else is close to a super home repair store) check out the VAST amount of knee pads they have. I was checking some out yesterday by dropping hard on the padded knee in the store (the gel ones are really cool) and it was fantastic, but remember to buy ones that have a smooth and hard exterior. Some look like tire tread and that will only make you fall on your face!
Also check out the military grade knee and elbow pads with the hard plastic shell on them. I am planning to sew some on my camos to keep them in approximate place and then use the supplied strap to hold it there.
I have not done this yet and I probably won't, but at the military stores they sell a 3/8" green high density foam sleeping matt thats rolled up. You can get that and cut it to fit like a vest or buy a cheap used camo shirt and sew it in if you like.
Anyways ... just ideas. Currently I am wearing camos, boots, half finger gloves, long sleeved shirt with a sleeveless camo shirt over it to help pad the sting a little.
