A lot depends on the look and board you are going for. It doesn't matter to me if it is a clammy or the bananna frame on there so I'd opt for the cheaper bananna style.
The board is going to be a big choice. WAS boards can be either expensive or cheap depending on the version. But you can always get a better price on the marker if the person has the original stock board that they can put back in for you, they can make up the difference in selling price by selling the board seperate anyway.
Dualies on the front are going to drive the price up too. Bumperless ram is the way to go so that you don't have to worry about shredding the others in the ram tube.
Basically your best, cheapest, bet is to go with an old fully stock Timmy... if you can find one. Or part one together ;)

I'm also thinking of getting a timmy I'm looking at used on Ebay what's the difference between boards? like the frenzy or 2k2 and 2k3 board, Which do you like better in performance Alias, 2k2, storm, or an older Lasoya intimidator? Just wondering cause after havest I'm getting one that's used

Really a lot of it depends on personal taste. Many people prefer the Storm over the Alias, and vice versa. It's pretty hard to tell you which one is better since the Alias is a newer design... as for the older ones, well they are like Spyders.. almost exactly the same from one to the next.
The boards have a lot of differences. The newer Frenzy and WAS boards have multiple settings you can dink around with, they even can tell you the ambient temperature  Setting things like the debounce, game timers, shot counters, bps counters, etc etc.
Personally the older 2k2 boards perform just as well for me, but I don't play tournament either. Many people get the upgraded boards so they can put cheater chips in them, others do it so they can keep up with the Jones's... as for actual improvements, hopefully someone else can answer that :D

Your best bet would be a 2k2...You can find them dirt cheap on pbnation (I've seen them for 400) and they shoot just as good as any other Timmy. (der, they all operate the same, lol.)
