breaking paint

i have a tippmann 98 custom
with 12 inch smart parts progressive barrel
with evolution 2 viewloader
and response trigger.

my gun will not stop breaking balls what can i do to fix this

if you are using crappy paint that could be it or you change the bolt

Which paint are you using?

Could be:

- bad paint (busting from the pressure)
- loader is loading too fast (causing chopping)
- loader is loading too slow (causing chopping)

Those are the only things I can think of. If it busting like every shot? Every couple of shots? Maybe 1/200? You need to give more details in order for us to fix the problem correctly. ;)

could be your ball detent
also i had problems where my paint just exploded halfway down the barrel,
so maybe your paint can't handle the pressure, i just bought better paint an' it solved everything.

i dont think a loader can go to slow for a tippmann :P though idk because he has a RT yeah like everyone said your probably using crappy paint or you need a new bolt

don't see how a new bolt would help...

1.) take it apart clean and lube everything ... don't oil too much
2.) chek the ball detent
3.) make sure you clean your barrel.....they could be barrel breaks..
4.) put new batts in the hopper...
5.) make sure the damn hopper is on

I think it was Old Chief who made a thread, about a defect on ALL 98 Custom Flat-lines. That's what it is. I can't seem to find the thread right now, but if I or anyone else finds it, we'll post a link here. ;)

I did a search for "defect flatline" and it showed up nothing. So I'm going with sureal on this one, wtf? And he doesn't even have a flatline soo I don't know what your getting at... Its probably caused by your ball detent, bad paint, paint being to big for your barrel (it could happen), slow hopper or fast hopper... Or several othe problems... I would just try different paint and if that doesn't work then look into some other possibilities.
