They're amazing but they're really expensive as I'm sure you've noticed. Yeah the laptops especially look cool I agree with you there. My theory is that the most high end computers out there today aren't worth it... you don't even need some crazy dual graphics card setup to run the games that are out now. It's just for benchmarks and bragging rights. But if you got the money, and you're not willing to build your one, I would buy one.

My uncle builds computers and he plays almost every computer game available and he told me that alien ware is the best for games. Wich obviosly means that they are fast, have a lot of memory, and that is the reason game informer advertises for them. And the look...so aswome.

Yeah, if I bought any PC, it would be an alienware.
Great for gaming.
Though, I still recommend most any Macintosh over any PC.

Well Alienware/Dell knows what there doing as far as, "computer in a box" retail setups go for gaming.... as someone who works on, builds, mods, and works at a gaming center....It can be said I would never buy one, you pay for the name....and it takes away all your "e-cool points" if you buy a pre packaged machine.....
HOWEVER
I do look at Alienware as a guideline, they stay on top of new technology and make great guidelines....

Macs are terrible for gaming.
If really want to have a high end PC like an Alienware I would look into building for sure. You can build a top of the line PC for very little. And since you'd be picking out most of the parts you can make it look pretty kool b/c you'd be picking everything.

Don't get me started.
I've already explained the difference between OSX and OS9, and the Intels are obviously superior.

Like CodeMA said, your buying the name. Look at buyxg.com if you don't want to build your own gaming computer.

Those aren't really that "graphically advanced" (I can't think of a word). You shouldn't have to buy an expensive Alienware just to play those. I assume you're talking about Counter-Strike: Source. If you run a lot of source engine games like Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 and those things, you'll want a high end computer. If you're planning on getting more games like that and are a big PC gamer, yeah consider buying an Alienware. But as I'm sure others have said, it's much cheaper to build your own custom PC that will run games 99% as good as an Alienware if you do it right.
If you really need to get an Alienware though, go for the Area-51 or Aurora 7500. Those ALXs are ridiculous.

yes alienware kicks ######...and the dual graphics cards can help later too. so can dual hard drives...it makes the game run MUCH smoother and im sure if you have that you will be able to play the top games for proabably 4 years...but at the speed game developers are going now and their "toys" keep getting better you will have to have a good computer to keep up.

QFT. Manufacturers that build computers (Compaq, Dell, Alienware, etc.) are overpriced because they take their 20 minutes to put it together and another hour to put software on it. If you are willing to take the time of building your own, you save a lot of money.

Actually an experienced assembly person can assemble a desktop computer in just a few minutes. Of course that takes lots of practice but if you think about it, it all comes down to some screwing in if all the parts are in front of you. And the software addition is mostly automated, just get a program to install it all.

Ive assembled computers and with the right parts can be just as good/better than alienware. but if your willing to shell out that dough than there top of the line computers and the computers are great because alienware are also very upgradable if u know what ur doing so they'll last longer being on top of computerland for a pretty long time. Plus they look sweet :D
