is alcohol good for cleaning lenses? someone told me to use alochol to get the paint off...is that right?

Not if its a thermal lens, the chemicals will wear through the coating. Water and a clothe will work just fine.

You should buy a Microfiber cloth, those are the best for cleaning goggles.
