i'm getting a new laptop soon, and my budget is about $1000 or so. Just like the other laptop topic, I'm looking for at MINIMUM

512 ram
40 GB harddrive
128 MB Video Card
2.5 processor


I just want to be able to run SOME kind of games off of it, like Warcraft 3 or Age of Empires 3.

However, instead of looking for a Mac, i'm looking for a PC

First of all, it's hard to find a good laptop at less than 1000 dollars now-a-days. Second, by "2.5 processor" I guess you mean 2.5GHz? As far as I know that doesn't exist in laptops yet, the highest I've seen was just over 2GHz, and those are expensive. Last thing is it's hard to tell how much video memory you're getting because it's almost always onboard graphics and it doesn't usually specify.

I found one that might be worth looking at here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834114200). If you don't like that one try searching around on Newegg.com. You might want to look into other things such as screen size, resolution, battery life, weight, etc. Maybe a bigger hard drive too; 40 gigs isn't really all that much. Maybe try getting some more money together for this.

it would be better to get an 1000 dollar computer than laptop, unless you travle alot. Other than that you should ask a pro at a big name computer store to build you a good gaming computer for 1000$. DO NOT go to a local small shop, ive had nothing but problems with them, one stole my video card and the other has ripoff prices (had crappy harddrive, video card, processor in a pretty case for sale for 1500$)
