anybody listen to any hatecore? i persionally like it becuase not everybody can sing about flowers and girlfrends. also most of it is really raw like old slayer.

They keep coming out with the stupidiest names for genres of music. If it is like slayer, wouldnt u call it thrash or death. Whats this hatecore? From my musical knowlegde, slayer was thrash.

thrash and punk have a few things in common, but not much. the speed of real punk and the speed of thrash are usually similar, which makes for great circle pits(punk) and great pits for thrash.
there are differences though. thrash metal uses more bass than punk does and tends to have a heavier, more solid sound. punk uses alot of snare and guitar, thrash uses double pedal bass and bass guitar. and lyrics are obviously different

I see where u are comging from. But it isnt. One of metallicas inspirations were the Misfits, perosnally one of my fav bands ever. And they are punk.

sums it up. also misfits fans and anyone who loves the underground hardcore scene should check out the book American Hardcore. Which has also been made into a documentary film. The book is a great read and I have heard the movie version is just as good.

Well i will check into that. Being a total Fiend, i would love to. I want to see em in concert but new line up is lame. Bring back Doyle!!! And i would say Glenn, but it wont happen.
