They will even if they dont win as easy as they normally do. They are still a great team 1 player wont make such a major difference tot he point where they will lose. They might have trouble with teams they didnt just roll last year but it will make their season interesting

doubtful all SP has to do is offer more and they can. I mean even if he is on Ironmen for a season or whatever the contract is if SP offers more he mostlikly go back to Dynasty. There is no way Dynasty is going to fall apart they will just pick up another player maby not as good but they wont need much to still win every event or close to every one

so your sayin dynsty couldnt win with out him. 1 player doesnt make that much of a difference when every one is amazing. Dynasty is an amazing team this may disrupt thema little bit becasue they were great with team work. But i think their other players will be able to cover his positon. Im nto saying Ollie wasnt a amazing player but i mean how much can he do? HEs playing back from what i heard for the ironmen. He mostlikly just do great there for that team. But still Dynasty is going to take every comp

im still rooting for dynasty
shouldnt hurt them too bad. if they are strong and they are all as close as brothers and if they are skilled which they really are they can deal with it.
it is a small shame tho, oliver is awesome

The ironmen this year are moveing up to the pro division. What they are propably trying to do is recurite some stong players the help them be competitive in the new division. I am kind of sad that oliver is leaving dynasty. But I like Iron Men so its not AS bad.

Nope didn't say that, but I am saying its going to be quite a bit harder to win games without the worlds arguably best player. Other players will be able to cover but once they start losing a few games who knows if others will get offers to leave too. This is just like a keystone being taken out of an arch, it could all fall apart.

Interesting.... I'd like to comment about what you said about this not making that much of an impact on Dynasty... Him leaving will make a big impact. They aren't just loosing a good player but that player is now playing against them. Its not just minus one... Granted they are a good team and I don't think they will fall compleatly out because of this but don't go thinking its not big deal to them...

lets just hope the NPPL or PSP doesnt turn into the NBA, NFL, or MLB. i would hate to see ollie, lasoya, or hastings turn into money hungry athletes with HUGE egos i.e. terrel owens.

Lets hope it does turn into that somewhat so pro's can actually live off of the payings and paintball can be more of a career.

dont get me wrong 100k is good. but wouldnt you hate to see a PB player sit out a whole season because he wants to be payed 8.6 million not 8. sure PB players are thankful but money changes people. not to be cliche but when it s a lot of money it is the root to all evil.

I think now that Ollie is getting paid so much other players will demand to be paid more and soon we may have something along the lines of a NPL(National Paintball League). :o

We already have an NPPL(National Professional Paintball League). An NPL would be the same thing short one letter. Out of all the professionals in paintball, only a few get paid a substantial amount and one of them happens to be Lang. With this being a public thing, like you said, more than likely other professional level players may start demanding a higher salary or just a salary in general for their services. This could be a good or a bad thing. It would solidly legitimize paintball as a professional level sport, since players are making a living playing it. It could turn into something like baseball though, where players are making outrageous salary demands and even sitting out games until their demands are met.

yellowpumpguy i know what he means, i think you misunderstood.
we will soon have a more unified paintball league than the nxl, psp, cfoa, iao just to name a few. hopefully everyone will consolidate into one league. i think the only thing keeping us from this are people like chuck hendsch who dont want to lose their huge payrolls by sharing the positions.

I don't think that paintball will ever really turn into a truly accepted profesional sport with the media, or the mass population for many reasons. For one thing, paintball does not receive the huge amounts of media coverage that basketball, baseball, and football does. Another reason is because most people still see it as a game rather than a sport, that is just the way their mindsets are. And finally, I think that as long as paintball is expensive to play, you just won't have a whole lot of new people come into the sport each year... If you had to pick one, and had never been exposed to paintball, which would you pick? Paintball, which can cost thousands of dollars to play each year. Or something like basketball, where all you need is a ball, shoes, and place to play.

what you said makes no sense. you say that paintball will never be covered by the media because it is not covered well be the media. and people change their mindsets almost daily. we just need the right PR and and good advertising. did you ever notice that the only paintball commercials that come on are during an episode of paintball? yes i know thats b/c its buisness but how else will we get people to realize that we are not just a bunch of rednecks out in the woods? think about this at your school if you told everyone that paintball is awesome you could reach maybe 1000 people. about 10% would actually care what you just said to them. a measly 100 prospective players. say there is an ad that shows paintball in a positive light, but it is seen by a million people watching tv. even if only 20% later considered paintball that is still double those that you were able to even talk to.

Actually im right here, Im personally happy for ollie. He has no college education. Paintball is all he has. BUt like the rest of us, he wants a family and to be able to provide for his family. I would do the same thing. I have friends who i am close with and wont play oine a team with out. But if i was offered 100000 a year to play for a team and i would jump at it. I honestly think dynasty will survive. I think the ironmen have gained a heavy hitter. Besides i am more of a tech guy than a tourney guy. last time i kept up with the nppl or any tourney series was 03

It comes on tv every week. Used to people would have heard about paintball at best and some would ask what it was. There are tons of new people coming into the sport now, how knows how fast it will be growing over the summer. Even in my area where there are no fields or pro shops I'm finding a lot of people that have played, play or will be playing soon.
You say that a lot of people don't play but then you ask that question as if they are going to know it can cost $1000s to play each year. My first time I payed $35. That was the trip there, all my gear, 500 paintballs and lunch. Now.. If the price was $35 for all day would you try something new that your friends rave about or would you settle for basketball in your driveway?

The first time I played it cost me a whppping 0 dollars. The following week i did all the chores I could and got a ###### brass eagle blade, 200 balls and 15 12 grams co2 canisters (some of which i stil have in my room). The sport grows every single day by people whos friend says something about playing. Plain and simple. This sport isnt that expensive when you look at it. We dont need a 1000 dollar gun to have fun. I know kids that have gotten the new blade for christmas. Played in the back yard and are hooked. Paintball costs no where NEAR 1000 a year. It only costs that much if you want it to.

No one has the right to be angry at Ollie leaving the BLUE dragon except his team dynasty ofcourse. But are you kidding me you wouldn't take the money if you were in his position? I don't care if his dad is rich and all of that crap, OLIVER LANG DID WHAT HE THOUGHT IS BEST FOR HIS FUTURE, and we should all respect that. Plus he might have his own gun coming out, c'mon, you think they'd they treated him this good in DYNASTY. W/E dynasty isn't going to be the best team for ever, and money talks. Simple as that.
