Smurf Imagine, if you don't have a question or a relevant comment don't post. Especially not something as useless as "what the heck???". Unless you can't read you should know what the heck.

The Italian Army has surrendered, German forces under the command of Luftwaffe Field Marshall Albert Kesselring have promised the German High Command they would hold the Gustav Line against the Allies preventing the fall of Rome. From October of 1943 into January of 1944 British and American forces under the command of British General Sir Henry M. Wilson despite numerous costly attacks had failed to dislodge the German’s from the Gustav Line. A daring Amphibious Assault of Anzio behind the Gustav Line was ordered and Operation SHINGLE was born. On 22 January 1944 German Forces were caught off guard at by the Allied invasion of Anzio led by the VI Corps while the II Corps renewed their attacks against the Gustav Line. While the VI Corps were able to establish a beach head with minor losses German forces recovered quickly from their initial shock and counter attacked at Anzio and pinned the VI Corps within seven miles of their initial beachhead.

Can the Allies breakout of Anzio and liberate Rome or will the German Wermacht succeed in their defense of Italy? Come join us at Black River Paintball on May 27, 2006 and help decide the fate of Rome!
