my son wants to buy a Ice Cold barrel for his a-5. what about the Tippman sniper barrel or Smart Parts? Too many options out there.

well if $ isn't a issue i'd go for a boomstick. if hes playing woods a 16 or 18 inch would be good. long n straight shot

Flatlines may have the distance, but I've heard they have horrible accuracy. Go with a teardrop if anything.

I would take a look at Smart Parts. They make great barrels. If you aren't looking to spend much I would recommend the Teardrop. It will give you the best bang for your buck.
