Ok, i got my Ion like a week ago and I was messing with my settings. I zeroed out my Dwell and Recharge rate and set my Dwell at 52, which is supposed to be stock, and my Recharge at 13. But I have a problem, my gun shoots but it doesn't shoot far. Probably less than 10 yards going straight, after that, it drops greatly. I never messed with the velocity on my regulator, and I didn't play at any fields so I don't know what my velocity is at. I haven't ever had a high-end marker like this or a N2 tank, so I don't want to go messing it up.
What should I do?
What settings should I have my dwell and recharge rate at for best performance also?

Get n2 asap, and reset your settings.

I think you misunderstood me when I said "I haven't ever had a high-end marker like this or a N2 tank, so I don't want to go messing it up." I DO have a n2 tank for my Ion. I got the Crossfire 47/3k which isn't too bad but that is all that I could afford right now. I will eventually get a second 47/3k or maybe just sell this one and get a 68/4500.
How do I reset the settings on my Ion? But just doing that won't fix my problem. The gun dropped greatly when it was stock and still does. So....? Do I just turn up the velocity on the regulator?

I found this at the link that other person had posted..
Dwell is the amount of time that the solenoid remains open (measured in milliseconds), which translates to how long the bolt will stay forward. This determines the volume of air that is used to fire the paintball. Increases in dwel will generally increase your velocity as well, though there are working limits to this.
Dwell is adjusted in 1/4 millisecond intervals, starting at 3 milliseconds. This means the lowest setting on the board is 3-ms, fist highest setting up is 3.25-ms, then 3.5-ms, 3.75-ms, 4-ms, etc. The stock dwell setting is 52 from the bottom. We don't recommend you adjust the dwell unless you wish to spend time and air fine-tuning the marker to psosible receive better performance.
... mm, you might want to take a closer look at that site http://www.zdspb.com/tech/ion/electronics.html could help..
(sorries i can't answer you directly btw ^^; )

Ah.. (apologies for the double post).. found this too.. in the Ion Frequently Asked Question link...
Q: What is the best dwell setting to use?
A: We suggest you use the stock dwell setting of 52 as it should do the job. Don't mess too much with the settings unless you wish to spend time trying to figure out what might possibly work best.
eh - nvm this again.. (reread what you wrote in the first place...).. its getting late lol..
