Got this from Mikko, thought I'd share with the rest of you guys! :P
We just won the Cal Jam, so here is a short report.
CAL JAM PRO
Legendary Cal Jam was held last weekend in Hollowood Sports park.
This was the 9th time when teams from california came together to
compete against each other for end of the season on their own
backyard in nice and relaxed atmosphere of Cal Jam.
Pro
5 teams showed up to compete in pro:
Dynasty
Ironmen
Legacy
Viagra (combination of arsenal players and some other So Cal ballers) Urban Quest (Naughty Dogs and some friends from Oakland Assassins)
So actually there was no weak teams and during the weekend people
were able to see really good paintball. Reffing on the pro field was
taking care by Ron Kilbourne and other players from Bushwackers.
Prelims
Pro teams played two round robins during saturday and sunday morning.
After round robins 4 teams went through the finals. No 1 seeded team
went straight in the final as 3th and 4th had to play against each
other. Winner of that game went against 2nd seeded team and winner of
that game went in final.
Saturday Viagra, Legacy looked really strong, Dynasty was doing ok,
but Ironmen and Urban Quest didn't do that well. Ironmen winning only
1 game and Urban quest none. Some of the games were really exiting
with lots of emotions included and with some controversial calls. As
sunday morning came it was totally new day for paintball. Viagra was
looking still strong as was Dynasty, but Ironmen and Urban Quest were
finally waking up too. Legacy didn't do that good as they did in
first day. Final score in prelims were 1. Dynasty 2. Viagra 3. Legacy
4. Ironmen and Urban Quest 5th, which meant that they were out.
Finals
First final game was Ironmen against Legacy. Ironmen started with
strong brake out taking all the key spots on field. That didn't leave
Legacy much space to move and Ironmen went trough to the next round.
Second game was Ironmen against Viagra. This game was really exiting
with lots of action going on in the field. Ironmen started again with
little bit stronger breakout. After couple minutes Viagra's back
player got caught wiping a hit and after penalty game was over.
Finals ended up to be Ironmen against Dynasty. From the break both
teams were looking strong, but after a few moments Ironmen made some
key moves and got couple really important eliminations, which meant
that Dynasty had to push to try to win the game. As the Ironmen had
good spots in the field, they only had to lock the lanes and wait
Dynasty to make mistake. Lang tried to push other side, but it didn't
work and Ironmen ended up winning the tournament and went home with
prize money!
Final results
Pro
1. Ironmen
2. Dynasty
3. Viagra
4. Legacy
5. Urban Quest
I wasn't able to find other division results. And unfortunately I don't have any photos.
Thanks
